The medieval markets takes place every year in various towns and villages. (Estepona, Casares"¦"¦.). Stalls are set up around the towns, mostly in the old parts and the stall owners wear medieval clothing and sell their wares. Home made cheeses, traditional hams, chocolate produced in small confiseries, wooden toys, hand-made jewellery, natural soaps, herbal remedy teas, woollen articles and many other hand made articles. There are many food stands selling freshly BBQ"™D sausages, Galician octopus (pulpo a la Gallega) cooked in huge pots, and of course the thirsty are also well provided for with a variety of beers and spiced wine. Arabian tents are set up with carpets, small chairs and low tables where you can sit back, relax and enjoy an extremely sweet "˜té moruno"™ (green tea with fresh mint and sugar) and savour one of the many kinds of typical Arabian sweet cakes. In some of the markets you will be able to treat your children to a donkey ride. No matter what, the medieval markets are definitely a great attraction for the whole family and something not to be missed.
