Nothing can take the charm away from this hotel; not even a cold rainy December day like the one when we went to see this delightful small hotel. This house built in 1950 and converted into a hotel in 2001, consists of nine, individually decorated theme rooms and a beautiful lounge / breakfast room.

All rooms are named after various towns and the interior decoration as well as the furniture reflects the name. ‘Fez’ transports you into an oriental boudoir where you find yourself almost expecting a belly dancer to come by and entertain you. ‘New York’ is cool and chic in black and white elegance with pictures depicting the town and an empire state standing lamp lends light. Even the smallest room ‘Dover’ is exquisitely English with its flowered wallpaper and pink bathroom. Beautiful antiques, four-poster beds and chosen artefacts add to the unique charm of the Albero Lodge and many rooms have a terrace or balcony.

Honeymooners, hen party goers and people wanting a romantic getaway will find the Albero Lodge ideal; not only because of its setting but also because of the generous breakfast times. Whatever time you wake up even if it’s 1pm you can order your Continental breakfast and have it in your room, outside in the garden, by the pool or in the delightful sitting room.

Each room has a mini bar, a safe, a telephone and a TV and the beds are exceedingly comfortable. If you need a hairdryer, just call reception and one of the friendly employees will be glad to bring it to you.
