Located directly on the beach behind the Hotel Don Carlos, Nikki Beach is a beach bar par excellence. Large white sails are strung across between palm trees, covering a vast decked patio. White canvas seats around wooden tables with candles make up the dining area, which is surrounded by several lounge areas with sun beds for up to 12 people. There is a raised VIP area for those with silver, gold or black VIP cards and a round sunken bar under a thatched pergola. The atmosphere is laid back and in spite of the largesse, very cosy and intimate.
Nikki Beach is renown for its parties not only here on the coast but in all the other Nikki bars around the world. Nikki Beach Marbella however takes a pride in making their bar and restaurant a place for everyone to go to and in the evening the music slows down to chill-out sounds and provides the perfect backdrop to a wonderful meal. Service is a priority here and each table has its assigned waiter or waitress who are there exclusively for you. On our evening there we were taken care by Kasia who not only was warm and friendly but totally knowledgeable about all the dishes and explained them in detail.
Nikki Beach is a wonderful location for birthday parties or weddings and if you are planning to celebrate there, you can go along for a tasting menu so that you know exactly what you will be offering your guests. Adriana public relations manager and Rene, the restaurant manager were prepared for our arrival and had organised a wonderful tasting menu with the chef.
We started with a variety of 4 different starters comprising of Crispy Cured Duck Salad slices of duck on a goat's cheese salad. Sexy Salad with a fresh taste of oranges. Asian Spice Crusted Seared Tuna Carpaccio deliciously soft and spicy with a hint of coriander. We were served a wonderful light, crispy, perfectly chilled Côtes de Provence rosé, which was the perfect accompaniment to our menu.
"Tu y yo" Sushi came served on wooden "crocodile" plates. I have eaten sushi all over the world and have always laid claim that the fresh fish on our coast is sushi perfect and the sushi presented by Nikki Beaches" sushi chef was definitely one of the best I've ever eaten. The California rolls were filled with crab meat with just the right amount of wasabi on the rice. Delectable.
Our main course taster consisted of 3 dishes beautifully presented on a glass plate with three compartments. Grilled Fillet of Salmon .....lay on a small bed of pea and mint mash. The salmon was perfectly grilled, moist and pink in the middle and the mash was so tasty. Be sure to eat the tempura beetroot leaf, it's not just decoration but tastes wonderful.

Roasted Rack of Lamb..... delicate, small lamb chops were served on a bed of crunchy vegetables. Once again the meat was slightly pink and very tender. Last but not least the Serrano Ham Wrapped Breast of Duck followed - soft, succulent duck lying on sweet potato mash and flambéed with old rum, so delicious I was tempted to lick the plate!
There is always room for dessert no matter how full you are but we truly had to fight with ourselves to order one of the inviting desserts to round off the meal. The battle was won by the Delicia de Tarte de Chocolate with Pistachio-Marzipan ice cream. The cake was soft and moist and the ice cream finger-lickingly good. Death by chocolate, so to speak. Although Kasia highly recommended the cheese cake as well.
We left Nikki Beach not only feeling sated and happy but also with a feeling of having been welcomed and taken care of.
