Vejer is a white village located only 7km from the coast in the region of Cadiz. It is the ideal weekend getaway for couples as it has many enchanting hotels and a good selection of restaurants. Vejers beach 'El Palmar' is located only a few kilometres away and has a beautiful white sandy beach. Opposite the beach are several restaurants and hotels as well. Parking is easy as there are several parking lots at a charge of 3€ a day in case you cannot find parking along the street. The tourist office in Vejer offers guided walks in English and German every Friday at 7pm which take about 1 hour and costs 3€. We recommend this tour, as the guide will give you interesting historical facts which will help you appreciate the attractions Vejer has to offer. Without a doubt, the centre point of Vejer is the Plaza de España from where you can easily explore the village on foot. At its centre it has a fountain decorated with frogs which is reminiscent of the fountain situated in the Parque de Maria Luisa in Seville. The square once was used as a bullring hence its round shape and the many balconies overlooking the square. The hotel and restaurant La casa de la Califa is located here and this is where you can enjoy a Moroccan mint tea on their rooftop café with gorgeous views overlooking the valley.
