Market Day: xxx Taking a road from Nerja 9 Km up the mountains you will reach the beautiful white village of Frigliana. Voted the prettiest village in Andalucía by the Spanish Tourist Board, this village with its winding, cobblestone streets, white washed houses, window boxes with red geraniums and small plazas with shady seating and bars serving local wine provides you with a true Spanish feeling. Steeped in history, this is the site of the final defeat of the Moors in 1659 on the hill El Fuente. The best way to discover Frigiliana is on foot; stop for a drink in a typical bodega, buy some of the locally made pottery, ceramics or weaved carpets. This village has retained its serenity and is the perfect place for a days outing away from the busy coast.
