The airport of Gibraltar is located close to the Spanish border. The runway is very short and it is an experience to land here.Quite a sight to see if you're at the front of the queue into Gib and compensates somewhat for the long wait.Ás it is a small airport, it is easy to find your way.

There is no post office or chemists in the airport !!!

 You will find a taxi rank just outside the terminal, but if you are visiting Spain, you can simply cross the border and take a Spanish taxi .

In case you are picking someone up from Gibraltar airport, it is advisable to meet up on the Spanish side; there is an "Andalucia Diner", which looks very American 60's style. Crossing the border by car can take up to 1 hour, the same when you drop someone off. You will be faster on foot and it is a short walk.

A day ticket on the bus into Gibraltar costs 2€ and if you have time for sightseeing. All taxis offer a guided tour around the "Rock".

Gibraltar is renown for its duty free shopping and for many Spaniards it is a reason to cross the border (as well as cheaper petrol prices). 200 Marlboro e.g. costs 12.50£. Adults are permitted two cartons of cigarettes per person.
