Granada is probably one of the most impressive cities in the world. It is situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, which serves as a breathtaking backdrop to this beautiful and diverse city. Granada is a student town and in comparison to Seville, has a more down to earth ambience. The Albaicin district, located along the river Darro looks over to the Alhambra and is the most enchanting area of Granada reminding you, with its many teahouses, of the Moorish occupation. Indulge yourself in one of the Hammams here (Moorish baths). The district of Sacramento is situated behind the Albaicin and has caves, which up to this day are the homes of the gypsies. Today, like yesterday, they still have Flamenco performances, but these are considered more as exploitations of the tourists. At night, the caves fill with students, turning them into discos, bringing a different kind of atmosphere to this area. ________________________________________________
