Situated in the beautiful shallow bay of Cristo in Estepona, this chiringuito offers everything for a perfect day on the beach. An array of sun beds, costing only € 3,50 a day, with large parasols are available. Being so shallow, Playa del Cristo is the perfect bay for families, where children can paddle and play. Further back on the beach, in front of he chiringuito there is a row of tables set up in the sand. Dining with bare feet in the sand is fun! Havana itself is a spacious building with a thatched roof, wooden floors and wicker lamps. The tables and chairs are black rattan and there are a few sofas and armchairs to sit and relax in. Havana has been established since 1987 and is still family run. The menu is very extensive and their food is truly international ranging from Spanish, to Indian, Thai and Italian. They have two different paellas, one with meat and seafood and one solely with seafood. We had the Paella Mixta and in comparison to many other restaurant paellas, this one had plenty of fish and meat and was moist and succulent. The choice of salads is large, quite unusual for a Spanish run restaurant, and we really enjoyed the Thai Salad Quite different as it had a dash of indonesian soya sauce over the chicken. Tasty. We also had a Madras Chicken Curry. The meat was tender and the sauce fruity and well spiced. It was served with Basmati Rice, which made it even more authentic. If you are an adventurous eater than you will find a few dishes very much to your liking with kangaroo, crocodile and ostrich meat! We finished off our meal with one of the homemade desserts, which was a flan with crunchy nut brittle and whipped cream. Tasty! Happy Hour in Havana is from 6-7pm (7-8pm in Summer) with Caipirinas, Mojitos and long drinks for an incredible €3,50. Live music is performed on the weekends in July and August from 7pm. Saturdays it's Brazilian, Flamenco and on Sundays it's Salsa night. Havana is the perfect location for a birthday dinner, a wedding feast or an office party. Adela and David will be happy to help you with the organisation.
Havana - a perfect beach location.
