This lovely typically Spanish restaurant is situated on a very picturesque square hidden off the main streets of Estepona. The tables outside are in front of a beautiful fountain and the tables inside offer an unusually subdued atmosphere - no blaring TV!
The food is wonderful. Choose from the fish displayed in the mini-fishing boat (by the way, this is where the name El Gavilan comes from) outside and have it freshly grilled. The Zarzuela - fish terrine - is something not to be missed. Clams, scallops and fresh squid are delightfully prepared .Try the house wine which is good and cheap. The service is excellent and the waiters are more than willing to provide doggy bags for any leftovers from the more than generous portions. You can park in the underground car park along the promenade and take a stroll over to the Plaza de las Flores. Andalujo 2008
