Situated on a lake in the Greenlife Golf Course - hence the name, this luxury restaurant offers a beautiful location as well as first class gourmet food.

Chef cook, Celia Jiminez, winner of the prestigious awards; Jornada Gastronomica "Choco" 2007 and the Cocina de Auto 3 2006 delights in offering a cuisine based on fresh local products combined with innovative cooking and beautiful presentation.
Assisted by her competent and friendly team; Paco, Maria and Encarni, you will be assured of receiving not only excellent service but a fountain of information pertaining to the food and drinks on offer.
Paco the Restaurant Manager has put together a wide selection of wines from young to vintage as well as featuring a large range of local Andalucian wines.
The restaurant has a minimalist décor, based on black, silver and tan colours with a fresh flower on each table. 2 bistro tables where you can have an aperitif or after dinner drink complement the generous bar. The restaurant is surrounded on the side facing the lake by a wide balcony with tables for outside dining. At night the borders of the lake as well as two fountains within it, are lit up providing a beautiful, romantic ambience.
The cover consists of thin, fine banana, yucca and potato chips, 3 different kinds of olives and a variety of breads with a dégustation of 3 different olive oils. Coming from Jaen, Cordoba and Malaga they are the introduction to the presentation of Andalucian products you can choose from.
We started with a Rosado de Cordoba Monastrell. This light, fruity wine was probably the best Rosado we've ever had and perfectly complimented the starters.
These began with a delicate, delicious Millefeuille of Marinated Chicken, Foie gras and Caramelized Apple.
Cod Fish Soup with Black Pudding and Tagliatelle of Cuttlefish followed. The black pudding was a perfect accompaniment to the distinctive flavour of the salted cod and the sprig of fresh thyme, which was served with it, gave it just that extra touch which makes a dish even more special.
Marinated Salmon with Fennel was the next dish to delight our palates. The fish was succulent and the fennel shredded into thin strips, topped with a touch of caviar.
The red wine to complement the next dishes was a Tinto Vega de Gava. This blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Malaga; is young and yet full-bodied, truly worth trying.
The Red Mullet on a bed of potatoes with "˜Roca" sauce was excellent. "˜Roca is the name given to a fish base made from the broth of local, intensive tasting fish that live among rocks.
You might not be a fan of pork but Cerdo Iberico is from the black, Iberian Pig and when it comes as Sopresa Iberico with finely Chopped Apple and Celery and a Spring Onion Puree beautifully presented, as are all the dishes in El Lago, then you know that you are eating a dish made in gourmet heaven!
Vino Moscatel de Malaga Ariyanas was a chilled, sweet wine served with the Cheese Platter. The goats and sheep cheeses came from Cordoba, Cadiz, Ronda and Malaga once again illustrating the wonderful variety of Andalucian products.
A selection of Profiteroles with Chocolate Filling, Mango Mousse and Ice Cream rounded off the perfect meal.

For your digestif you can choose from a large range of gins, brandies, cognacs, champagne and various coffees. These in turn are presented with a selection of Petite Fours such as a juicy Banana Cake, Puffed Rice in Chocolate, Pine Nuts in Black and Milk Chocolate as well as sugar coated Sliver of Grapefruit Jelly.
For that very special celebration, El Lago offers a meal including wine for 2 plus and an overnight stay in one of the suites situated on the floor above the restaurant. These rooms are with a balcony overlooking the lake and provide the perfect setting for a romantic evening following a superb meal.
