Probably the most beautiful district of Sevilla, it is the ideal location from where to explore the sights. Once the Jewish quater it is now filled with small boarding houses, hostels, hotels and restaurants. A tragic legend tells the story of Diego Suson, who was the ringleader of a Jewish rebellion in the 14th century. This rebellion sought to take control of the city. His beautiful daughter Susona was in love with a Christian knight, and she betrayed her father to her lover, which led to his excecution. Tormented by her actions, Susona requested in her will that her head be seperated from her body following her death. It was hung for several years from the door of her house. The street today bears her name and her house was the first house in this street .
