The weather in Tarifa
Tarifa is located on the Costa de la Luz and is the most southern point of Europe, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic Ocean. Famous to surf aficionados , it is an international destination for kite- and windsurfers. This fact has lead to a laid-back lifestyle and a relaxed atmosphere, which distinguishes it from the busy Costa del Sol making it a favourite weekend destination for many young people, from in and around Malaga. It is possible to ride horseback in the early morning hours, along the never ending stunning white, sandy beaches before they are filled up with kite surfers and sunbathers for the rest of the day. In the evenings, you can sit by the beach and watch the beautiful sunsets, listening to chill-out music and sipping on a Caipirinha.
The main street of Tarifa "Calle Batalla del Salado" is lined with surf shops and leads to the old town through the main gate "Puerta de Jerez". You can loose yourself in the cobblestone streets and discover many charming tapas bars, restaurants and unique shops, finally ending up at the fort of "Guzman El Bueno". It faces the port from where you can catch a ferry to Morocco. At nighttime the town changes. The various bars, which seemed hidden during the day, come to life and people and the sound of house music spill out into the streets.
